ABC Certified Practitioners
All clinical staff at Rehabilitation Practitioners are ABC Board Certified, meeting stringent educational and academic standards. Mandatory continuing education assures that our practitioner staff has the most up-to-date knowledge and access to the most recent advances in technologies.
ABC Accredited Facilities
All of our patient care facilities are accredited by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics. To achieve and maintain accreditation our patient care facilities maintain the highest standards in the profession.
Choosing a Prosthetist or Orthotist
The relationship you develop with your practitioner is important on many levels. Whether you've experience limb loss or a functional deficit or you're trying to regain lost activities, you will be confiding in your practitioner and need to feel confident in both the practitioner and the facility.
How many practitioners does the facility employ?
RPI has several Certified Practitioners. The advantage to having multiple practitioners is specialists who are experts in specific areas such as pediatric orthotics or computer aided, high-tech components and design.
Unique or difficult cases are discussed with the entire team so that our patients benefit from multiple input of ideas from other experts. A multi-practitioner office also benefits patients by offering 24/7 emergency care. If your practitioner is sick or out of town, there are others to immediately assist you.
Is my device fabricated locally?
RPI has a full service laboratory where most of our patient appliances are constructed. Having your device fabricated locally means a shorter wait time to receive it. Most repairs and adjustments can be done on-site, while you wait.
How respectful is the facility of my time?
At RPI, the majority of our patients are seen slightly before or at their scheduled appointment time.
Teaching Physical Therapists
Our ABC Certified Practitioners have been privileged to teach at Shenandoah University's Division of Physical Therapy School for over 20 years. Joan Cestaro, C.P., in conjunction with university staff, teach a semester long course to graduate level physical therapy students. The course introduces the principles of prosthetics and orthotics and the physical therapy examination and interventions for persons who are differently-abled.
