Our Professional Staff
Orthotists and Prosthetists are Practitioners who provide care to patients with disabling conditions.  Orthotists treat conditions of the limb and spine and Prosthetists provide care to patients with partial or total absence of a limb.  A Pedorthist specializes in relieving foot problems that may be caused by disease, overuse, or injury.

 
Michael Cestaro is a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist.  In conjuction with his father, he established Rehabilitation Practitioners, Inc. in 1990.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia.  Mr. Cestaro completed his Prosthetic and Orthotic training at Northwestern University Medical School in 1988 and became certified by the American Board for Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics, Inc. in 1989.

 

Joseph Cestaro, CPO, co-founded RPI with his son, Michael.  He has a BS degree in Civil Engineering from VMI.  Mr. Cestaro completed his Prosthetic and Orthotic training at New York University and was certified in 1968.  He is a past President and member of AAOP and AOPA and currently teaches at Shenandoah University, instructing the Doctoral Degree Physical Therapy students in Orthotics and Prosthetics.


 
Mary Virginia Paletta is a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist. She acquired her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University in Morgantown. Ms. Paletta received Certificates in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
 
Board Certified Practitioners

All Practitioners at Rehabilitation Practitioners, Inc. are Board Certified, meeting stringent educational and academic standards.  Continuing educational assures that our Practitioners have knowledge and access to the most recent advances and technologies within the Prosthetic and Orthotic fields.  

 
Joan Cestaro is a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist. She acquired her Prosthetic Technology degree from Harmarville Technical Institute in Pittsburgh and joined RPI in 1992 as a technician while completing her Bachelor's degree from Shenandoah University.  Ms. Cestaro attended the Prosthetic and Orthotic Certification programs at Northwestern University Medical School. Upon completion of both residency programs, she was certified by the American Board for Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics, Inc. in 1998.
 

Christine Martin, a Registered Fitter of Orthotics, joined RPI in 1993 as a secretary. 

She desired to expand her knowledge and skills and, in 2003, became a Registered Fitter of Orthotics by meeting the requirements set forth by the American Board for Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics, Inc.


 
Gina May is a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist.  She acquired her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.  Ms. May received her Prosthetic and Orthotic Certification from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
